Jackson was an American Mathematician and engineer famous for her work with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She was NASA’s first African American female engineer. She worked for decades to increase the number of women working in scientific and mathematical industries. In 2016, a film called “Hidden Figures” was made that tells the story of part of Mary Jackson’s career.
